Mild Steel Grade

As the most widely used metal material in the industrial field, the grade system of acero dulce directly determines the mechanical properties and applicable scenarios. Mild steel grades are generally classified in accordance with mainstream standards such as ASTM, JIS, GB, etc. into the field.

Mild Steel Material Grade

Mild steel is also called low carbon steel. It refers to carbon steel with a carbon content ≤ 0.25%. It is known for its excellent formability, weldability, and economy. Common grades of mild steel are ASTM A36, JIS SS400, S275JR, and S355JR.

  • ASTM A36 (USA) Yield strength ≥250MPa.
  • JIS SS400 (Japan) Tensile strength 400-510MPa.
  • S275JR is the most commonly used unalloyed structural steel in the EN 10025 standard, with a yield strength ≥275MPa.
  • S355JR follows the EN 10025 standard. With a yield strength of ≥ 355 MPa, S355JR has significantly better low-temperature toughness than S275JR, making it suitable for more demanding environments.
