API 5L X52
TUSPIPE’s API 5L X52 steel pipes are API certified, offering more refined performance control suitable for demanding transport environments. Stable mechanical properties provide peace of mind in oil and gas engineering projects.
API 5L X52
Les American Petroleum Institute specification API 5L covers seamless and welded steel line pipe. API 5L X52 is a steel grade that is often used in the petroleum industry. It is a higher strength steel grade than X42 and is typically used in higher-pressure applications.
The API 5L X52 is available in PSL-1 and PSL-2 and is one of the most common steel grades used in the pipeline industry. The API 5L X52 material has good weldability and formability properties and is typically made from carbon steel. The strength of the API 5L X52 pipe grade makes it ideal for use in high-pressure applications.

Application of API 5L X52
API 5L X52 pipe is a type of steel pipe that is commonly used in the petroleum and oil and gas industries. The transport and supply of petroleum, natural gas, and other fluids are typically done through API 5L X52 line pipe. This type of pipe is also commonly used in the construction industry, as it is known for its strength and durability. API 5L X52 specification line pipe can be used in a variety of applications, and it is one of the most popular types of steel pipes on the market
What is the Difference between api 5l x52 PSL-1 and PSL-2?
API 5L X52 is the international standard for pipeline transportation of oil and natural gas. The levels are PSL-1 and PSL-2.
API 5L X52 PSL-1 Levels:
- Used for pipes transported at low pressure.
- Less stringent test requirements.
- Suitable for standard applications in less demanding conditions.
API 5L X52 PSL-2 Levels:
- Used for pipes transported at higher pressure.
- Stricter quality control requirements.
- Requires more extensive testing of pipe properties.
Mechanical properties tested include tensile strength, yield strength, and elongation.
Chemical properties, such as composition and impurities, are thoroughly examined.
- More stringent requirement for the frequency of testing.
- Considered to be of higher quality compared to PSL-1 pipes.
