Acier doux
Mild steel is acier au carbone with a carbon content of less than 0.25%. It is also known as soft steel because of its low strength and hardness.
Acier doux
Mild steel has good plasticity, toughness and machinability due to its annealed organization of ferrite and a small amount of pearlite. It can accept force processing such as forging, welding and cutting. Therefore, it is often used in construction, home appliances and light industry. But its wear resistance and tensile strength is poor, can be processed through the heat treatment method to enhance the surface hardness, thus expanding its adaptability.
