OCTG stands for Oil Country Tubular Goods. This type of tubular goods includes casing, tubing, and drill pipe.
OCTG Pipe - Casing, Tubing, and Drill Pipe
The primary function of OCTG tubing is to prevent wellbore collapse, transport oil and natural gas, and transmit drilling power. Among these, casing reinforces the wellbore, featuring high strength and corrosion resistance, effectively preventing fluid leakage from the formation. Oil tubing is typically made of alloy steel. It serves as a conduit for transporting oil and gas from the wellbore to the surface. Drill pipes connect the drill bit to the drilling rig, transmitting rotational power and drilling fluid.
These three types of tubing constitute OCTG tubing.
