  1. The U-forming stage

The steel plate is first beveled by an edge milling machine to ensure flat and accurate edges. The steel plate is then pressed into a U-shape using a large hydraulic U-forming machine. This stage requires precise pressure control to avoid material damage.

  1. O-forming stage

The U-shaped steel plate is fed into the O-forming machine, and gradually pressed into a round shape by high-pressure hydraulic pressure.O-forming is a key step to ensure the roundness of the steel pipe, which directly affects the subsequent welding quality.

  1. Expansion stage

After forming, the steel pipe is expanded mechanically or hydraulically to reach the final size. Expanding not only ensures uniform size, but also eliminates residual stresses and improves the pressure-bearing capacity of the steel pipe.

The Production Process of UOE Steel Pipes

The manufacturing process of U-O-E involves multiple steps from the preparation of raw materials to the final processing and quality inspection.

Raw material preparation and pretreatment: Remove oil, rust, oxide, etc. from the surface of the steel plate after hot rolling process, maintain the flatness and integrity of the steel plate surface, and ensure the subsequent welding quality.

U-shaped bending: U-shaped pressing is the first step in UOE steel pipe production. The U-shaped roll machine will press both ends of the preheated steel plate intoU-shaped tube billets by pressure.

O forming type: The U-shaped tube blank is pressed into a round tube by the cold bending and forming mold processing of the O-shaped press.

E-shape expansion: E-shape expansion is the last critical step of the U-O-E process. The O-shaped tube is extended by hydraulic or mechanical means to form a formed steel pipe.

溶接プロセス: After the shape of the pipe is processed, long welds are welded using technologies such as high-frequency induction welding (HFW) or double induction welding (DSAW). Welding current, speed, temperature and other parameters should be strictly controlled during the welding process. Ensure the strength and toughness of the weld are up to standard.

Pipe processing and coating: Perform subsequent pipe processing, surface treatment and coating treatment according to customer’s project requirements. Increase the durability and service life of the pipe.

Quality control and inspection: Through ultrasonic inspection, X-ray inspection, hydraulic test, tensile test and impact test, the weld quality of finished steel pipes, pipe size and wall thickness and other parameters are measured and controlled. Ensure the high quality and high performance of the steel pipe.
