Low Carbon Steel Grades

Low carbon steel is also called low carbon steel. Low carbon steel: C≤0.25%. The chemical composition and mechanical properties of different grades of low carbon steel are different from each other, and they have a significant impact on structural safety and economy.

Comparison of Low Carbon Steel Core Standard System

ASTM standard:

A572 Grade 50: Yield strength ≥345MPa (bridge special)

A516 Grade 70: -46℃ low temperature impact toughness (pressure vessel)

EN standard:

S355JR: Minimum impact work of 27J (European standard for building steel structure)

GB/T difference:

Q345R specially refers to the Steel for pressure vessels (P, S content ≤ 0.025%)
