1/2 Inch Pipe

1/2 Inch Pipe (Half Inch Pipe) is a basic pipe widely used in construction, water supply, HVAC and industrial systems.

1/2 Inch Pipe Sizes and Performance

The standard sizes and performance characteristics of 1/2 Inch Pipe vary according to the material classification of the pipe.

The nominal diameter of 1/2 Inch Pipe is 1/2 inch (DN15).

Actual Outside Diameter:

  • Steel Pipe: 21.3 mm (ASTM Standard)
  • Copper Pipe: 15.88 mm (Type L)
  • PVC Pipe: 20 mm (Schedule 40)

Galvanized steel pipe has good corrosion resistance but is heavier.

Copper pipe has good antimicrobial properties but is more costly.

PVC pipes are lightweight and chemically resistant, but have poor temperature resistance (usually ≤60°C).
